This term we aim to support each child to recognise their state of flow, build skills to enter flow, extend their flow stamina, and emerge and recover positively.
We have planned a wide range of activities suitable for different ages, learning styles and interests so that students can choose the activities they will enjoy the most. This is essential to achieve a state of flow to build their flow stamina. We will also teach strategies to find your flow state and stay focused.
Flow is a state of mind in which a person becomes fully immersed in an activity. While in a flow state, people are highly involved and focused on what they are doing.
"The ego falls away. Time flies. Every action, movement, and thought follows inevitably from the previous one, like playing jazz. Your whole being is involved, and you're using your skills to the utmost," Csíkszentmihályi, Wired magazine.
Our Simply Homeschool Staff are trained teachers with 44 years of homeschool experience combined. They have current Working With Children Checks and First Aid Certificates. Yes! We have deliberately included specific activities for children with ADHD and dyslexia. There will be a written structure to support students who need predictability. We have included a variety of activities in each session to allow children flexibility and choice in their learning. Parents are available to support their child's engagement and learning.
