What is Record Keeping?

Record Keeping is an essential part of homeschooling in all states. We suggest using any form of record keeping that is achievable in the long term. Choose one or more of the following methods:

Core Program Reports using comments and photos added to each Activity. This is an easy way to see your student's progress. Students can add their own photos or comments or you can add them in. Quickly and easily create reports on each Core Program or book (Premium Membership Only).

Lapbook (an A4 Art Diary) with the date added at the top of each page. It can be helpful to create a code for each Core Program and include this with the Lesson and Activity Number. For eg. CP1.2 L17.4 would mean Creative Phonics 1.2 Lesson 17 Activity 4. This Lapbook is used to show the Moderator / Authorised Person from your State’s Education Authority the learning activities your child has been doing.

Messy Book with the date and Core Program Code

A private Facebook Page shared with family

An app such as Kept Me

Your own diary with a list of what you do

In QLD you need to share Work Samples with the Home Education Unit (HEU). More information about keeping these records is next.
