Spelling comes after reading, or sometimes alongside reading. Some homeschool children become competent spellers through reading widely and using spellcheck.
If your child needs a spelling program - please don’t start until at least age 10. I recommend CREATIVE SPELLING (available in Simply Homeschool Term 3 2018)
