Foundation Pathway

The Foundation pathway has been designed to give families a simple and confident starting point. By combining your Essentials with one Explore Core, and one Engage Core, you'll cover the key learning areas while still leaving plenty of room for play, family learning, interests and everyday life.

The Essentials build the foundations for future learning. These Cores focus on early literacy and numeracy skills, helping your child develop confidence in reading, writing and mathematics.

Complete all of the Essentials below.

Explore Cores help children learn about the world around them through stories, nature, discovery and hands-on learning.

Choose one Explore Core that most interests your child and family.

Engage Cores focus on creativity, wellbeing, relationships and personal development.

Choose one Engage Core that best suits your child's interests and personality.

This pathway provides excellent coverage of the major learning areas expected in the Foundation years while maintaining the flexibility that makes homeschooling so rewarding.

Remember, this pathway is a guide, not a checklist. Feel free to swap Cores, follow your child's interests, read great books, explore rabbit trails and make learning your own.

The goal isn't to do everything. The goal is to start confidently and enjoy the journey.
