Starting homeschooling doesn't need to be complicated

This pathway has been designed to give families a simple and confident starting point. By combining your Essentials with Explore and Engage Core Programs, you can create a balanced learning plan while still leaving plenty of room for family learning, interests, flexibility and everyday life.

1. Start with Your Essentials

The Essentials provide the foundation for future learning. These Core Programs help students build confidence in key literacy, language and mathematics skills that support learning across all areas.
 
Complete all of the Essentials below.
 
Mathematics Note: Secondary mathematics is not included within this pathway. Families are welcome to use any mathematics program, textbook series or learning approach that suits their students' needs and learning style.

2. Choose TWO Explore Cores

Explore Cores help students understand the world around them through inquiry, research, discovery and real-world learning.

Choose two Explore Cores that best match your student's interests, goals and learning journey.

NB: FLY Parts 3 & 4 are a paired study and should be completed together as one Explore choice.

This pathway provides excellent coverage of the major learning areas while maintaining the flexibility that makes homeschooling so rewarding.

Remember, this pathway is a guide, not a checklist. Feel free to swap Cores, follow your child's interests, read great books, explore rabbit trails and make learning your own.

The goal isn't to do everything. The goal is to start confidently and enjoy the journey.
