This hands-on kit contains resources for use with the Excellent Engineering core program. NB: This kit does not contain items for the core that are easily found at home, the supermarket, or are too big/expensive to include.
Choking hazard: This kit contains small parts, sharp parts, magnets and coin batteries.
This kit is not compulsory to purchase, however, all the items in the kit will need to be purchased individually if you do not already have them in your home.
- Some items are specialty parts that would need to be obtained online from separate places with separate postage. E.g. hex bug, ring magnets, led light, lithium battery and copper foil tape.
- Some items are purchased in whole packets/lengths when you only need a few or a small amount. E.g. fishing line, pony beads, copper foil tape and metal washer.
- There are a lot of different bits - our team has spent hours sourcing everything so that you always know you have these tricky items on hand and ready to go.
- All the parts have been tested by our team to check that each project works.
- Everything is in a large postage box to fit everything and keep everything safe. Use this box to collect the other household items you need (see the resource list in the core) - e.g. scissors, cardboard, paper, empty cans, plastic bottles, toilet rolls, etc.
By all means, if your house is well stocked with most of these items and you have time to collect everything, you are most welcome to do this yourself. We recommend you do this in advance and collect everything into a box so that you have the items when you need them. Some items take a few weeks to arrive from the suppliers. For those of you who know, like me, that the projects will never happen unless I purchase the kit, we've done the work for you and here it is! Our aim is to save you time so that you can enjoy these projects with your kids.
